Rose When Garden Warfare 2 was initially released, the rose character was absolutely broken and the game was so cancerous to play because every team was entirely made up of roses that had the potential to pretty much kill you with one shot. EA struggles making balanced characters/what's wrong with the plants?
Also, why isn't there automatic promotions? Why do I need to go home to do it?Ĭ. I know why EA incorporated the XP mastery aspect of the game, but to me it needs to be reworked. Speaking honestly, I don't want to play as variants such as the commando pea. It didn't take long to achieve a master rank agent pea, and now I havn't played that variant in a long time because it's absolutely useless if you have nothing to gain. I understand that EA wanted to prompt players into using every variant available and not just spam the same character over and over, but there's a lot of variants I just really don't want to play. The old 'earning stars' method in the first game was pretty rough, mostly because many objectives were virtually impossible (like ensnaring and eating 15 players in one round as the chomper) or because the many objectives only catered to the last unlockable character variant (camo cactus, fire pea, swamp thing chomper).īut where EA went wrong is achieving master class and being done with the character. I do have to say I love the new experience system to level in Garden Warfare 2.
And honestly, I didn't really mind all the sniping foot soldiers because most of them were to bad that they didn't bother moving when they were shot at pretty much free kills as a cactus. But looking back at maps such as Driftwood Shored from the first game, I couldn't see the new variants struggling that much because there was ample cover and many ways to reach the garden without getting spotted. Also, I think the maps are smaller to compensate for the new variants. Playing the marine biologist (a scientist variant) in the first Garden Warfare, I could go around the entire map and pick people off one at a time without being noticed, but now all I do is run into hordes of plants clustered together and get one kill before the all see me at which point I die.īut why are the Garden Warfare 2 maps so much smaller? I would assume it's because EA wanted to force people to play the objective and not have foot soldiers hang around at their sniper points all day long and never jump in the circle, which happened many times in the first Garden Warfare when over half the team was composed of foot soldiers. There's almost no stealthily sneaking up on people and the entire place is cramped.
Why? Mainly because the maps in the second Garden Warfare are so small and narrow, you can stand right behind the takeover objective and see every enemy from every angle especially in the seeds of time maps. If I had to compare the original Gardens and Graveyards versus the new one, the first garden warfare is definitely my favourite. Every other lobby might be dead, but Gardens and Graveyards is always packed with players. This game mode has been and is still the centerpiece of Garden Warfare.
However, I wanted to compile a list of reasons as to why I am slightly disappointed with Garden Warfare 2 in no specific order of importance where it went right and where it went wrong.
So I have to start this off by saying I love Garden Warfare, the first game and the second.
